I'm trying to connect to DCS 005B, and can do so, and can hear, but not be heard. The guidelines state that you need a CCS7 ID, which I've had for a couple of years, but still, I get a "No Voice No CCS7 !!" error on the Xreflector desktop. I'm using Dstar Commander, and CCS is enabled with CS704 (I've tried a couple of others also). I can connect in to DCS 006B without a problem, and it's desktop shows my CCS7 ID. I'd read that you were supposed to put your ID in the URcall as Cxxxxxxx, but this ends up with me being connected to myself ! Any ideas ?

What does an "XReflector desktop" look like?
Your CCS7 number is not entered anywhere on your gateway--only your callsign is. The association between your callsign and your CCS7 ID is made in the CCS server and only in the CCS server. My suspicion is that the CCS servers are not being kept either very current and/or well-synchronized with registration data, as MANY people have sporadic problems with CCS7 IDs not being recognized. Sometimes switching to a different server helps, and sometimes it does not.
IMHO, CCS7 is still not reliable enough for regular use.

Hi Bob : thanks for explaining how the CCS7 is handled by the servers, it tells me that it is probably not something I am doing wrong ! The Xreflector is the DCS desktop, here : xreflector.net/neu3/If you click the left-hand side for 005, you will see the reports of connections to the reflector modules. I will try the remaining CCS7 servers that I have not tried. I would like to get a contact within the reflector admins, but I have no idea how to contact them. The search continues ... John N6RCD
