My Raspberry Pi 3 B works ok to my home wifi. And it works ok through my iPhone Hotspot. My question is when I get out of my home wifi's range, can I make the RPi revert to my iPhone Hotspot without having to go into the Dstar Program and manually change it? I thought I saw in another program that you could make a primary (which would be my home wifi) and a secondary (which would be my iPhone Hotspot) wifi that would automatically switch between devices. Using RPi 3B, 440 DVAP and Kenwood TH-D74A.

Not exactly. There is a provision to send an RF command from the radio to force a change to a different wifi connection, and also a provision to automatically connect to a secondary/tertiary wifi connection in the event the primary is not available, but only at startup. If you force a change in connection with the WIFICFGx command, then it will restart the hotspot software and you will lose any current link--this is necessary because the gateway and the reflectors use the IP address of the other end of the link in their internal tables to maintain the connection...when your IP address changes (as it does when switching wifi connections) then a restart of the service is needed and reconnection must be initiated from the Pi's new IP address to synch things back up.
