I've been having a problem lately of ircddbgateway dying. I'm wondering if using cron to check if it's running hourly and restarting it or if restarting the whole PI would be better.
Ideas?
I haven't given this deep thought yet. Just an off the top shot.

It depends on what's causing it. If your internet connection is dropping you'll want to reboot the Pi.

Thanks Bob. The internet dropping is most likely whats happening. I know every time it does as my wife is a medical transcriptionist and lets me know when it drops. I can work with that.

Have an issue I need to get an answer on how to fix. Some reason I have the have a initial behind my call-sign for the dpluslogin in the ircddb gateway for it to work instead of just being my call-sign. Can someone tell me if there is a way to fix this. Thanks

New user here. I am using the latest version of Dstar Commander with a Raspberry Pi3 and a DVMega single band. Under ircDDB Gateway should the status show as connected? Mine shows disconnected. I have the Gateway set up as a hotspot.

Not until you link to something... Thanks. If I use ircDDB on my phone and link to say 30C the links show KQ5S B Linked to REF030C but the ircDDB status shows disconnected. I must be missing a step along the way. 73, Tom-KQ5S

ircDDB is the backbone link to servers that support the horrors of callsign routing, and to use it requires a separate (e.g. club) callsign and a registration/password from the ircDDB system admins. It is normally only used for full-duplex fixed repeaters, not hotspots.
So what you are seeing is ops normal.
