I have the file configured, gmail email account and password setup. Keep getting an email error from gmail.com and I'm wonfering if it related to the built in mailer. sSMTP looks correct. I get no feedback on the TEXT ON command at all. Mar 21 04:08:15 raspberrypi sSMTP[5398]: SSL connection using RSA_ARCFOUR_SHA1 Mar 21 04:08:15 raspberrypi sSMTP[5398]: Authorization failed (535 5.7.8 support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?answer=14257 35sm5223147yhu.32 - gsmtp) I'm suspecting this?: (My client isn't accepting my username and password) Your mail app might not support the latest security standards. Learn how to allow less secure apps access to your account. This board has been most helpful! Thanks! Mailer port in config was set to tls, changed port to ssl. Might be working. We'll see. Gmail SMTP port (TLS): 587 Gmail SMTP port (SSL): 465 Checked the logs and the connection is timing out.

New memory card, new install. Only minor edits. Gmail did not like the email app and I had to set the security down for it to connect to their server.
Receiving emails and it said texts were enabled as well.
Looks like it's taking commands now.
On to the next learning curve. Changing from 70cm to 2m remotely. I'm wondering if the repeater 2 will need settings in it as well?
73's!
Enjoying learning!

Changing from 2m to 70cm and vice versa with DStar Commander the dvMega dual band only requires changing the frequency (easiest way is via DStar Commander's FRQ command, or you can pop out the SD card, put it back in your PC, and run the DStarConfig.exe program to reconfigure the hotspot with the new frequency). There is no "band" setting or other parameter change needed when making the change with DStar Commander.
If you use the G4KLX configuration GUI on the Pi, you'll have to select the proper band as well as the hotspot's operating frequency.

Correct Bob.
Got the frequency change working and took a look at the configuration files to see how it worked. The complete package is working exactly as stated. I'm quite satisfied with the way everything is working.
Was using the ID-51+ with this and now it's time to learn the ID-5100.
It would be interesting to know if anyone else needed to downgrade their security with gmail to connect. That might need looking into. I had to make the edit for rr.openquad.net but nothing else.
Great package! Well worth the cost of the equipment it's installed on. Will make a backup image of this for sure!

The default setting for the ircddb server in the DStar Commander image is rr.openquad.net -- as long as you don't try to change it in the G4KLX GUI it's good to go right from the download.
Having to fiddle with Gmail's security setting is something that popped up after DStar Commander was first released. It shouldn't pose a security problem if a dedicated gmail account is set up as recommended (in addition to keeping the clutter from the outgoing DStar Commander messages confined to the dedicated mail account).
You might post the details of what security settings you needed to change for the benefit of other users.

"The default setting for the ircddb server in the DStar Commander image is rr.openquad.net." This is good to know. After reading that they prefered people use the round robin address I checked after the PI was up and running. When I didn't see it as an option in the configuration program is when I edited the config file. I'll know not to touch it in the future. The URL to lower the gmail security standards is www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureappsBelow the below text is where the selection is: Some apps and devices use less secure sign-in technology, which makes your account more vulnerable. You can turn off access for these apps, which we recommend, or turn on access if you want to use them despite the risks. Learn more Chuck KG5DIR

Just set up a new dualband mega board and pi. I am getting the following error on my e-mail. I set it up using the start up script from the SD card. I did this a few weeks ago and did not have a problem
I did change my host name just in case that makes a difference.
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
postmaster@pi
Technical details of permanent failure:
DNS Error: Address resolution of pi. failed: Domain name not found
----- Original message -----
DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed;
d=gmail.com; s=20120113;
What is the name and location of this file so I can edit it without going thru the start up script again.
Thanks

Dave/AD4UU,
Did you ever get an answer to your request about failing postmaster@pi. I am having this issue as well.
