Hi All, I am setting up a dual band dv-mega with D-star Commander, I used the Pc way to set it up and have 70cm working just fine but how do I now set it up for the 2m side? I haven't found any steps explaining this. does the RF command FRQ do this automatically and the FRQ example only shows 5 digits will it except 6 example 146465?
Any help will be appreciated. Sid K4SID

I think that the dual band DV Mega is EITHER UHF or VHF depending on how you set it initially. I don't think that you can use an RF command to change bands.
FRQ works OK changing frequency within one band because I've done that with my single band DV Mega

Thanks for the reply Gary, After an hour of playing around I found that the RF command FRQ is the answer. It changes the repeater configuration file to change the band and freq. I'm going to have to document what I did, so when I forget and I will, I can find the answer a little faster.
Thanks again Sid K4SID

There is no separate band change command...just specify the freq you want and if the new freq requires switching to the other band (2m/70cm) that happens automatically. Regards

Yes, DStar Commander will QSY the dual-band mega to any valid VHF or UHF frequency using a single command issued from the radio.
You set your radio's URCALL field to "FRQ" followed by the first 5 digits of the new freq...for example, for 145.15MHz, you would set FRQ14515 in the radio's URCALL field and transmit briefly, and the hotspot will restart on 145.15 MHz. Similarly, FRQ43525 will set the freq to 435.25 MHz. No separate band switch command is needed.
