And wondered if there has been any testing with DStar Commander for operational problems. The new version will do DMR as well. But not on the PI as I understand.

The dvMega RadioPi boards that DStar Commander is designed to run with are daughterboards made specifically for the Pi. Perhaps this new DMR funtionality is only for the dual-band Arduino daughterboard?
I don't know of anyone who has flashed the new firmware and tried it with DStar Commander. My dvMega is a dual-band RadioPi with a surface-mounted EEPROM, so I can't reflash the firmware on it short of sending it back to Guus in the Netherlands.

I'm in queue for the programming board and which ever Bluespot device needed for the DvMega Dual-band I have. I'll check back in when the deed is done.
I can't think of any reason it would affect DStar Commander on the Pi though. Just adds DMR on their new device with DStar.

Programming board? Bluespot device? Do tell me more.

"Bluestack board, supports DVMEGA raspberrypi-boards, both dual and singleband. With the BlueSpot app, you have access to DMR, D-star (REF, XRF, DCS) - - switch activated (in), serial mode for Jonathan Naylor (G4KLX mode), or DVMEGA firmware upgrade mode via X-loader tool. - - switch de-acivated (out), BlueSpot mode, connecting to BlueSpot App. BlueSpot is an Android app, so perfect to use as mobile hotspot!! - Unit is always powered through the micro-usb, so use an adaptor or a battery-pack to power, or just power via the PC/USB-hub." "BlueStack1 makes it possible to use your dvmega-dual-bandradio with the BlueSpot app. Simply 'stack' the board between the radio and your UNO or MEGA. Firmware is available via dvmega.auria.nl. The power connector on this board will make sure there is low-loss powerconversion, and also is able to feed both the arduino and radio-board as well!" www.pa7lim.nl/bluespot/www.dvmega.auria.nl/index.htmlwww.dv-mega.com/programmer-for-dual-band-raspberry-rpi-shield-t270.htmlHere you go. Chuck Gibson KG5DIR Chuck, The DVMEGA page clearly states " ATTENTION ! IF YOU USE SER2NET ON A EXISTING RASPBERRY IMAGE, MAKE SURE G4KLX SOFTWARE IS NOT RUNNING." I'm guessing the two pieces of software would compete for control of the DVMEGA. Dave-KB1PVH

While you are in the process of updating the firmware. G4KLX takes control of the port at boot time and killing the running programs will have no effect.

I've been paying so close attention to this development that I have no idea if the firmware update adds or fixes any DStar operations. And at the same time I've been question as to whether or not the DMR is compatible with most DMR Amateur systems in the US. I'm trying to find out answers to both questions.

What DSTAR operations need fixing? Not sure what you mean with by "whether or not the DMR is compatible with most DMR Amateur systems in the US"

Understand that DMR-MARC will not allow hotspots or dongles on their system. And that is what I have nearest me. No idea if any work was done on the DStar side of the firmware. It was suggested that in Europe there are DStar to DMR connections.
"There are a few D-Star to Brandmeister links out there (D-Star reflector DCS005F and DMR reflector 4400 have a bridge in the UK) perhaps setting something up like that might be useful in your area?"

Hi group, I upgraded my DVMEGA RPI single band board AMTEL chip firmware using Arduino UNO R3 as the programming board. I found recently that the programming can be done using the RPI board, g0wfv.wordpress.com/how-to-bluespot-for-dvmega-on-raspberry-pi/I used the X-loader and v2.26 firmware from Guus for DSTAR and DMR , to get the BlueSpot control app with ser2net, and followed the installation instructions. I cannot get BlueSpot app to connect to the hotspot running DStar Commander. I use ID51A radio, do not have DMR one yet. I am wondering if anybody got the same connectivity problem with BlueSpot app. 73, Ted VE7VIB

Did anybody try BluSpot app with the Commander?
