After a successful DStarCommander installation on a Raspberry 2B using DVMEGA monoband device and image on 32GB SD,
I started by same procedure installing it on a Raspberry 3 using DVMEGA dualband device and image on 64GB SD.
Unfortunately a complete fail so far. Reconfigured with DStarConfig.exe twice but no function what so ever.
WLAN: no match, LAN on router: neither LED in action nor detection by router. Hence no IP address, hence end of possibilities.
LEDs on the board red constant, green flash in 6 times packs once in a while. Red LED on DVMEGA dualband board flashing like hell.
So help needed there.

No, 1.21 has some problems with the RasPi 3B that don't appear to be solvable with a quick OS update. Working on a completely new build replacing Debian Wheezy with Jessie. No ETIC yet.

PC Interactive image setup not working on pi2b with V2.0 Image. Formatted via SD formatter and loaded image and then used DStarConfig.exe and went smooth. Loaded into pi and no response. Checked pi via VNC viewer and noticed "gateway & repeater" not running and gateway config info missing. Entered all info manually and started "repeater & gateway" and was able to link reflectors but other "RF Commands" not working and had to use "sudo halt" to shut down pi. I had made several attempts formatting via a SD formatter software and new image download with the same results. Let me know if you have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong: ie. formatted results shows 60MB "Boot" sector on 16GB card? Also, I have used your new provided DStarConig.exe or should I try older version?

When you ran DStarConfig.exe on your PC, did it terminate with "writing to SD card"?
Is this the dvap or the dvmega version of the image? Plz confirm that the version of the image is consistent with your device (e.g. not trying to use dvap image with dvmega or vice-versa)
Assuming the cmdprocess.conf file is present (run "cat /boot/cmdprocess.conf" and you should see the contents of the file scroll bye), then try this in the lxterminal window (omit the quotes):
cd ~ for dvap version: "sudo python dvap_init.py" for mega version: "sudo python 7021_init.py"
If it throws any errors let me know what it says.

When you run "sudo su" you become superuser "root", so when you do the "cd ~" as superuser "root" you end up in /root instead of /home/pi
So to run the dvap_init.py you have to first explicitly change the directory to /home/pi with cd /home/pi
Honestly, it sounds like a flaky SD card. Have you tried using a different one (specifically a different make/model)? Also, are you properly unmounting/stopping the SD card by selecting "remove device" in Windows before removing the card from the PC? If you just pull the card out without properly closing out the removeable drive it could also explain these sorts of issues.

Hello again Bob. I now have success using a SanDisk card on both rasp pi2b&3b thanks to your advice. Previously I had used 2 new Kingston cards with no luck. I am going to try 2 more new Sandisk cards tomorrow and different computer for formatting. Still not sure all along if it is a formatting or specific card issue. Will let you know soon in case other people have this issue. Thanks again!

Thanks for the follow-up, Paul. I had hoped we were getting away from the finicky behavior seen with certain SD cards, but that seems to be coming back into the forefront again, particularly with the later generation Pis. Argh.
Cheers

All Problems Solved! Love the DStar Commander. Here's what I learned to solve my own silly mistakes.
1. Buy New SD Cards 2. Do Not Format 3. Make sure to "Eject Disk" when completed. 4. Helps to select "Safely Remove Hardware" especially on my old Windows XP!
All of the above solved my Image Burn problems regardless of SD Card types!
Thanks again Bob!
