Hi everyone,
Relatively new user here of the DStar Commander image. I've been using it for a couple months and really like it but have a problem I haven't been able to solve. I'm getting ready to head to Dayton tomorrow and hope to link up with my fellow club members at home and talk on D-Star. From my ID-51A+ I can do a Gateway CQ in DR Mode to my local repeater, and talk to it... however, users on the repeater cannot talk back to me. I've tested it myself with two Radios I have but nothing.
Through a reflector is no problem, and if I can use ircdbb from my Android phone to make the connection I can do two-way communications no problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Jason N4BOZ

No I didn't... each repeater has to be added manually to the host file? I'll go read that thread again, it was hard to do from my phone the other day.
Thanks.

A hostfile big enough to include all the known worldwide gateways causes problems with the gateway software (and it's exceedingly tedious and time-consuming to keep current), so it's left to the user to add those repeater gateways of interest to them. Generally speaking, it's better to use reflectors wherever possible rather than connecting directly to a repeater's internet gateway, as discussed in the thread linked above.
