I have several RaspberryPi's on my home network which can get a little confusing. What is the procedure to change a hostname without breaking the D-STAR Command/G4KLX relationships? I have tried using the normal Linux commands to update the hostname file, etc. (i.e., the standard instructions) but that sets off a round of security messages sent from the Pi to my cell phone. Thanks for your guidance.

See the last paragraph of the traditional setup pdf file included with the docs.
Sometimes changing the hostname will necessitate reverification of the connection in order to use some programs like SSH/VNC etc.

It would be nice to be able to change the PI's name in the script program we use for wifi, email and freq setup.
Tnx

I looked at that and lots of other possible options for customization in the setup program. In the interest of keeping things as short and simple as possible for the new guy setting things up, I elected to only include the bare essentials, and leave the advanced features and customization options (like setting the Pi's name to other than default) to users to perform themselves via VNC/SSH/console.
Cheers
