I have had Dstar Commander working for 2 months with this hotspot..no problems until now...when I try to connect it says "WPS-AP Available" and will not connect.. I have done nothing to the software or hardware. It does connect to xfinity and also another hotspot(Sprint) I have without any issues. I downloaded a new image but the same problem was there with the T-Mobile hotspot
any help would be appreciated....

Since your RPi will connect to other WiFI networks, it seems obvious the problem is with the T-Mobile hotspot and not your RPi or D-Star Commander.
I wonder if T-Moble pushed a software (or configuration) update to your T-Mobile hotspot which could be causing the problem?
Questions:
Was anything changed on the T-Mobile hotspot, like maybe the WiFI SSID or WiFi security settings?
Have you rebooted or power cycled the T-Mobile hotspot?
Can you log into the hotspot's web console to check the WiFi security settings?
Just an FYI, I've had cellular hotspots go bad before. In particular, I've had the WiFI in two different AT&T Unite Pro 781S hotspots get flaky and drop WiFi connections after only 90 days on one and 6 months on the other. I'd have to power cycle the hotspot to get the WiFi to work again and after a few hours it'd drop the WiFi connections again. They drove me nuts so I gave up on them and instead now I use an old Cradlepoint CTR35 pocket sized router with a USB cellular modem attached to it. This combo works great and runs 24/7 for weeks on end without any problems.
