Configuring DHAP/DVAP using external monitor and keyboard

Posted this earlier but in wrong area of forums.  I downloaded latest version of Commander for a DVAP yesterday.  I tried to configure the software to run using a external monitor and wireless keyboard plugged into a DHAP.  I was able to configure everything but when using Gateway Config the data was not saving even though it indicated it was.  Thus I was only able to get the unit working through VNC.  Never had a issue doing it this way with the Maryland software image.  Has any on else seen this type of behavior?  Please advise!
