I sent two emails to Bob regarding the reported available link to dxrfd ver 4.0, but I have had no response?
Is the DXRFD ver 4.0 a lemon and no longer available? I am very confused due to Bob stating it will be available, then not responding to emails, as contrast to that fact he requested encourage applicant's to email him ?

It is the holidays...I am happily engaged away from my unpaid volunteer development work on DStar software. As always, I do offer a 100% money-back refund to anyone who feels they haven't received the timely and professional level support they have paid for.
dxrfd 4.0 is still in development--in particular, I am experimenting with modifications/extensions to the DExtra protocol to accomodate high latency/jitter internet channels (e.g. to accomodate satellite or dial-up internet).
Release and support of infrastructure software is different than with user node software like DStar Commander...it's much more difficult to maintain version control across a mixed lot of different variations of reflector software as incremental improvement occurs, so I decided against an early release and I am hanging fire on releasing dxrfd 4 into the wild while we work out and incrementally test what has been a moving target for a baseline configuration on a small, controlled group of interlinked test reflectors (the XRF 002-310-555 constellation). I released a beta version some time back, and quickly people began pointing fingers my way at the first sign of anomalous behavior on their network. In light of that unhappy experience, I am taking care to be sure that the new dxrfd is thoroughly tested and settled into a stable and static configuration before release outside the test environment.
Until that time, dxrfd 3.08 and xlxd are both still freely available and quite capable.
