Several of us that use the D-Star Commander and monitor it for others would like to see the logfiles not get truncated/renamed every UTC day, and use repository-upgradeable versions of dstarrepeaterd and ircddbgatewayd that don't use mixed-case file naming.
It requires more work to "tail -f /var/log/DStarRepeater-2017-01-21.log" because the file ends the next UTC day, a Ctl-c and an edit of the tail command with a different date.
In Compass Linux for instance, "tail -f /var/log/opendv/dstarrepeater_1.log" can run endlessly, even as the occasional logrotate occurs.
