Hello All! I have a 2 questions:
I have an RPI-3 with a Dual Band DVMEGA. The Dstar Commander Software is great, only one problem. When I try to change the Gateway Module from B to C using my radio and the "SETMODx" command, I get an error (via text/email) that states: "Command error / invalid module. Must be A-B-C-D". What am I doing wrong here? I clearly input "SETMODC".
Also, does the RPI remember the frequencies for both the B and C modules, or do I have to change the Module AND the Frequency every time I change? In other words, will I have to use the SETMOD and the FRQ command every time I change over or can I just change Modules and it will remember the frequencies previously input for the B and C Modules?
Thanks for the help! 73, KG5QFN

You're missing a blank in the command...it's not "SETMODC", it's "SETMOD C" with the "C" in the 8th character position.
The software does not keep a separate frequency for each module...DSC is a simplified setup designed for a single RF module (either a dvMega or DVAP). But...there's no requirement to change the module when you QSY, so any hassle involved in swapping the module is most likely self-imposed. The convention to use module B for UHF, C for VHF etc is a throwback to Icom repeater stacks, and meaningless for most hotspot operation (unless you're running multiple hotspots and need to deconflict them, which shouldn't be a recurring thing).

Thanks for the Reply. I wasn't aware that the Module designation was optional. When I referred to the documentation, I didn't notice the space between the SETMOD and the "C". Keep up the good work!

Just to be clear, you do have to designate a module when configuring the hotspot, but there's no need to change it when changing bands, nor is there any convention that you need to adhere to as to which module (A-D) you choose.
