KA2Y is trying to G2 route with ircDDB disabled.

it seems to follow an APRS line in the log.

I also appear to have to do HOSTUPDT vis rf command to get Reflectors addresses loaded.

Should be simpler.

I have attached some of my ircDDB Gateway log - to help someone help me figure out what is going on.

The "trying to route with G2 disabled" is normal...it's the gateway telling you that it doesn't understand the DStar Commander command you sent in the URCALL (but the DStar Commander companion program does).

Looks to me like your router is not responding to your Pi's DHCP request in a timely manner, which means the initial resolution of the host files is failing at startup, but works later when you run a hostupdate manually.

Sometimes rebooting the router helps with that...sometimes issues like congestion/overcrowding on your 802.11 wifi channel can cause it.
