Yes Bob, I have a 2.5A power supply feeding the RPI2. I have checked voltage within the RPI, 5.14VDC. After being an Electronics tech for the FAA for 20+ years, and also in the US Air Force, I really tend to dig into things and never let that "little thing" mess up my troubleshooting. It's just that after I have a fresh load to SD card, either 10A, 10C or 11, on the PI2, if I look for the WIFI in ifconfig, there is nothing there. But the B+ plus WIFI shows the dongle there. Puzzling.

Puzzling indeed.
You might give this a try to see if you can resurrect the wifi hardware:
sudo ifdown --force wlan0 sudo ifup wlan0
I'm a retired USAF O-6 myself.
Cheers

Good Day General. Still show respect for my superiors. Seems the commands you gave me worked. I now have the RPI2 connected via WIFI. I spent 4 years at HQ SAC, in the underground Command Center, where they had connections to Cheyenne Mountain. Loved the USAF. Thanks for all your help sir, and do have fun in retirement.

Oh my no, not a general, just a lowly colonel. ;-)
That's interesting...I'm starting to think there's a timing problem getting in the way of the Wifi startup on some systems

Sorry Sir, been out for 25 years. All out Wing Kings were Full Birds. I worked for many Generals over the years. Great people. I'm glad to have all working good. Met many folks while at HQSAC. Including Casper Weinberger. I retired as E-7. Wasn't going to get any farther, and to retire at 38 was great, so I could get on board and double dip. Hahaha. Thanks for much, and hope to see progress with the digital portion of Ham Radio. Take care. JIM
