Hi folks, Just bought a DV Mega and flashed the SD Card with westerndstar software, and its displayed on my monitor just fine. Unfortunately, i plug a mouse in (prior to and after booting) and the mouse is not recognized so i can't make any entries. Is the only way to connect to the DV Mega PI software is thru an VNC application on my PC?
If this can't be resolved, can I image my SD Card with Dstar Commander software and will it work with a mouse (without VNC)?
I thought this process would be easier than what I am experiencing.
Thanks W4LLZ

What version of the Pi are you using? I'm assuming you have a 2B...this requires updated drivers for the 4-port USB device on the Pi model 2B. DStar Commander does include those drivers, so a mouse should work fine in any of the USB ports on the Pi 2B.

It's a 2B+ project board with the westerndstar image.
D-StarRepeater+ircDDB+VNC
I'm stumped. I'm downloading the Maryland-dstar image now.
None of the USB ports appears to have power. My 3 wireless mouses didn't work, and just bought a wire mouse and it doesn't work, and also the Wi-Pi (little blue light when you plug it in) doesn't work, but all work on my laptop. It's gotta' be a software issue.
Anymore help? Thanks in advance. W4LLZ

There's no such thing as a Raspberry Pi 2B+. It's either a B+ or a 2B.
If the other image(s) don't have the needed OS updates that contain the driver for 4-port USB support, that would explain why your USB ports are not working. A weak power supply might also cause the USB ports to behave erratically or not work at all. If the voltage across the Pi's onboard test points is less than 4.75v, I'd suspect that as an issue.
DStar Commander does have the necessary updates for 4-port USB support.
This is a support forum for DStar Commander. I don't provide support for the Western DStar or Maryland images here...please approach them for support issues related to their images.

Ok. Thanks. I'll download the Dstar Commander software and try that knowing has support for the 4 ports. I think that is the issue with the current image.
